For Talent & Production Companies
Stop waiting for the right script. Develop it.
Creative Purpose helps actors, creators, and talent-led production companies turn their ideas into developed film projects. We assemble a writing team around the creative vision, strengths, and ambitions of the talent involved, a collaborative development partner for companies beginning to build their own slates.

Where a room creates opportunity
Original films built around you
Don’t wait for the right screenplay to find you. We develop original films around the kinds of characters, genres, and stories you want to pursue.
Acquired or optioned IP
You hold rights to material worth filming. The room develops it into a screenplay shaped around the project you want to make.
Early-stage ideas
A spark of an idea is enough to start. We explore creative directions together before the team commits one to a screenplay.
A pipeline without a permanent staff
Talent-led companies can build a development slate without assembling a large permanent creative team. The room scales around each project.
The writers’ room experience
How a project gets built around you
Three writers can develop a concept, existing IP, or a potential starring vehicle around the talent’s creative objectives, while a dedicated development producer manages the process as your primary point of contact.
01
Start with the talent
We begin with what excites the talent creatively: the characters, genres, and stories worth pursuing.
02
We build the team
Three writers are curated around that vision and the project’s needs; one serves as the creative lead.
03
Stay involved
Talent and their teams join agreed creative sessions and reviews through the development producer.
04
The project takes shape
The room develops the concept toward a screenplay built around the talent.
The writers behind the room
Rooms are curated from an established network of 30+ accomplished screenwriters, including Black List writers, Nicholl Fellows and finalists, Emmy winners, and recognized selections from Sundance, Austin, and other top screenwriting competitions, whose work has appeared on Netflix, HBO, Disney, Pixar, Apple TV+, and Nickelodeon.
Frequently asked questions
Can Creative Purpose help develop a film around a particular actor or creator?
Yes. That’s the core of this path. We start with what excites the talent creatively, develop original concepts around those ambitions, and curate a writers’ room around the concept, creative objectives, or potential starring vehicle, building the screenplay with them at the center.
Can we bring existing intellectual property?
Yes. We can explore developing material based on existing IP, provided the appropriate rights and development arrangements are established first. Rights sit with their owners. We build the development path around them.
How much involvement will our company or talent have?
As much as the engagement calls for. The model is flexible: an initial creative alignment, agreed feedback sessions, and milestone reviews, with participation shaped around how your team works.
How are development costs, writer compensation, and ownership determined?
Developing a project is a paid engagement. The arrangements depend on the project’s scope, any existing rights, and the agreed partnership structure, established in writing before development begins. We don’t presume any particular arrangement; that conversation starts with what you’re developing.
How long does development take?
A script developed through multiple drafts is typically completed within three to four months, depending on the project.
What do you want to make?
Tell us about the idea, the IP, or the kind of project you want to be known for, and we’ll explore how a writers’ room could develop it.
