Curated teams of accomplished writers

Rooms assembled from an established network of Black List, Nicholl, and Emmy-recognized screenwriters, matched to each project’s creative needs.

Complementary creative expertise

Different writers bring different strengths: structure, character, dialogue, genre. The room combines them around one shared creative vision.

An organized development process

Coordinated exploration, agreed milestones, and structured feedback: an alternative to serial single-writer engagements for selected projects.

Aligned to your objectives

Different projects may require different teams and different development arrangements. Each engagement is structured around your goals and process.

Frequently asked questions

How does Creative Purpose assemble writing teams?

Each project gets three curated writers, one serving as the creative lead, plus a dedicated development producer who oversees the engagement and coordinates with your development executives. Team composition follows each project’s creative requirements: genre, tone, structure, and the strengths the material needs.

How is development organized and overseen?

The development producer coordinates the collaborative process end to end and is your primary point of contact, while the creative lead keeps one storytelling voice. Your notes and approval process are built into agreed milestones. Deliverables, from concept exploration and outlines to screenplay drafts and revisions, are determined by the scope of the engagement.

How are writing agreements, WGA requirements and IP ownership handled?

Writing agreements, compensation, intellectual property rights and applicable guild requirements are addressed as part of each project’s development arrangement. The structure depends on the writers involved, the underlying rights and the participating production entities.

Can Creative Purpose develop multiple projects?

The scope and scheduling of multiple projects can be discussed based on the writing teams available and the requirements of the engagement. We structure capacity around the partnership rather than promising fixed volumes or turnarounds.

How long does development take?

A script developed through multiple drafts is typically completed within three to four months, depending on the project.

How much does it cost to develop a film with Creative Purpose?

Two paths, and you pay differently under each. If your studio takes one of our completed scripts, that's an option or purchase deal: you pay for the rights to the script itself, and there's no development fee. For a paid development engagement, cost depends on the scope of the work, the writers involved, and the agreed deliverables. Writing teams may include WGA writers, which carry guild minimums, or non-WGA writers with more flexibility. Pricing is structured around the requirements of the engagement and established before development begins. See a cost breakdown.
